Will you be able to redeem a precious metal? Absolutely. Right now working through the details on how and where. The only hint we can give right now is it will be in the United States and in one or more of these states. Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri or Arkansas. It is likely the first state will be Oklahoma. These are all moderately crypto friendly states who still respect the first, second and fifth amendments. We will see how the next four years turn out. We are also discussing an international redemption option with a partner as well. More details in 2025.
It will be a few months before this option is available so we are telling you up front that redeeming metals will not be an option for the next few months. We need some time to sort out the details for redemption.
Also be aware there will be minimum amounts. Right now it will be 10 ounces (283.495g) GXYG and a minimum weight in other metals will be posted in 2025. A lower minimum redemption option may become available over time.
Just like there is a utility fee to purchase metals there will also be a redemption fee. Redemption will be based on weight. Each token has a fixed weight and is set by the asset manager. For example GXYG tokens are 1 gram. GXYS tokens are 1 kilogram. Small amounts will remain tokenized. Keep in mind remaining tokenized allows easier transfer of assets. After redemption you will need to buy in again.
